Yakka, being Australian slang for hard work, especially manual labour, is one of many words we have in Australian English to originate from an Aboriginal language. The range includes Drill, Poly Cotton overalls, shirts and pants, and hi-vis. The company also supplies a range of accessories and safety footwear. Pacific Brands acquired Hard Yakka, and then, in 2014, it was acquired by Wesfarmers as part of its Workwear Group, along with KingGee and Stubbies workwear.
