Mongrel Safety Boots was one of the first companies to make a success of the Zip Sided design; combined with a strong level of comfort, many people buy a second and third pair of Mongrels.

Originally designed to meet the needs of tradesmen requiring a boot that was easy to slip on and off but provided greater ankle support – it was increasingly required on many worksites. The range has been redesigned, and new styles have been included due to demands in specific industries, including construction. ZipSider styles feature the OrthoTec PU innersole.

  • Which safety footwear certifications and standards apply in Australia?

    All safety footwear items meet the Australian and New Zealand standards for occupational protective footwear (AS/NZS 2210.3:2019). They also meet or surpass the international safety footwear standard (EN ISO 20345:2011). Depending on the model, safety footwear may include additional characteristics or certifications like electrical hazard resistance, slip resistance, heat resistance, or water resistance.
